It’s officially time to dust off those packed-away duvet covers and embrace the chilly morning and evenings, for many of us this just means more excuses for comforting hot beverages such as a rich hot chocolate that only Italy does best. This week we’ve compiled plenty of interesting Italy-related content to enjoy from wherever you are in the world so let’s waste no time and dive right in!

What Else You Don’t Want to Miss

Our recipe of the week is a pasta dish that is typically prepared at the height of the oil-pressing season in Liguria, offered by the olive growers as a gesture of celebration to those who helped with the harvest.

For centuries, the Isarco Valley has been covered in majestic chestnut trees, hence the name Sentiero del Castagno, which begins at the Novacella Abbey near Bressanone and ends at Castel Roncolo near Bolzano. Let our resident expert hiker Silvia takes you along the chestnut trail! 

Days are getting shorter and temperatures are getting chillier so it is the perfect time to catch up on some exciting TV shows. Here are five Italian TV series, some premiering this fall, others from past seasons, to transport you to Italy. 

On display at the Florence’s Opera Museum, the Bandini Pietà by Michelangelo has just undergone a major restoration which has removed dust, plaster and wax accumulated on the surface that altered its exceptional plasticity, three-dimensionality and color. 

This pendant is entirely handmade by goldsmith Lucio de Luca from a design by Rossella Farina in the laboratory Yantra in Montemerano, an iconic piece made with love. 

Now that Opera and theater has returned, save this useful vocabulary lesson for the perfect night at the teatro (at the theatre) in Italy.
