Ciao from Corinaldo!

Submitted by Alswitha on

Ciao a tutti! I have been coming to Corinaldo for nearly 20 years now; we have a holiday home there. I write 2 blogs, one on Hill Towns of Le Marche http://alysb.wordpress.com/ and one on Libraries of Le Marche http://beautifulbooksinitaly.wordpress.com/. You'd be amazed at the treasures lurking in small communal libraries. Anyone who would like to go round a library with me - let me know.

Beautiful books in Le Marche

Libraries in Le Marche
The Marche region of central Italy – about one third down the Adriatic coast – is full of small, fortified hill towns. It is an area I have come to know well through regular holidaying and, as a librarian, I was intrigued to start investigating some of its small, semi-forgotten book collections.

Taking a second hand car to Italy

Submitted by Simrose on

I will be coming to live in Italy next year and will be applying for residency. I am thinking of buying a second hand LHD car in England and driving it down. I have seen a car for sale that already has Italian plates. Does that make any difference to the conundrum of legally owning a car? What would i have to do once I have residency to make things legal?

Accountant with experience of dealing with international income

Submitted by SonicSam on

I am looking for an accountant with experience of working with income tax in Italy where the income is from a US LLC. My partner and I are 50% co-owner (members) of a US business (LLC), we are both Italian residents.. If anyone can recommend an English speaking Accountant. We are based in Cagliari in case that makes a difference.

Owning a boat in Italy

Submitted by JaneFAB on

Hello, can anybody give a definitive guide to what licences are required for owning a boat in Italy? I understand that the motor needs to be registered, as does the trailer if it is an Italian trailer. I think you can also own and use a boat that is less than 6m long and has a 40hp engine or lower without having to have a licence (certainly you can hire a boat for pleasure like this). Also, do you need a licence for using the boat on the sea as well as the river and roughly how much does this all cost?
Thanks
Jane
