Seven of Sicily's Most Beautiful Beaches

As summer approaches (although it doesn’t feel quite like it yet here in Italy as May has been unstable and chilly), we continue our series dedicated to the best beaches in each Italian region. Today, we travel to Sicily, the largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. Total coast length is approximately at 1,484 km (922 mi), so you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to beaches. And they’re varied too: from long, wide and sandy to tiny pebble coves amid Mediterranean shrub, from those accessible only by boat or on foot to those equipped with chairs, umbrellas and bars.

Here are seven of our favorites (of course there are plenty more that could make the list).

Also, take a look at seven of Sardinia's most beautiful beaches.
