Questions Asked

There used to be a little shop in Viterbo which sold Indian spices, basmati rice, poppadoms etc. I can't find anything about it now. Anyone know if it is still open? In bocco al lupo!

Ciao e tutti,After 13 years it has finally become necessary to drive to Italy! I suppose it was inevitable.

Ciao e tutti, The other day, on the phone, I was casting about for a good translation of "flat-out", as in driving, running etc. I ended up with the rather feeble massima potenza, or a massima velocità.

Well it is nice to be back.

I haven't been able to login or reset my password for days. I usually login automatically with my browser so it isn't "just finger trouble"

Thanks Alan,I think last time we left on the  Lorrach exit we encountered some roadworks which sent us on a rather convoluted route through a small town! Thanks again

Yes he's saved us a few quids too in the last couple of years!I have lost the link to the "round Basel with no traffic". It worked for us the first time but the last time we tried it we ended up totally lost! Could you re-post it?Anyone know of Gotthard traffic/queue info site? yes

We frequently drive the Gotthard route & pay no tolls at all until we reach Italy. We buy an annual vignette for Switzerland which gets you through the GotthardCheck out the answer from Alan h. on this old thread:http://www.italymagazine.com/community/post/some-advice-about-ferries-routesTo date we have stayed in Mulhouse, Metz, Colmar & Freiburg. They all have cheap convenient hotels. We try & stop somewhere interesting each way to make it more fun!In bocco al lupoC.

A good towed flail-mower will be quite pricey too. There are some horrible cheap ones that won't last a season. If the field is not too big then a walk behind (or stand/ride-on) rough-mower will do the job. They will knock down anything you gan get them, over except perhaps small saplings.Mine easily manages waist high weeds & grass. Search on names like Scag, Ferris, Great Dane, Etesia & Grillo. Towards the end of the season you will find some good bargains In bocco al lupo

Ciao e tutti,As a long-time fan of the community I think it would be a shame to all lose touch. I have found this place to be very useful & interesting.Perhaps we subscribers (past & present) should take ourselves off somewhere else. Do we have, or can we get a full list of emails for everyone?Pip pip

When we started driving from Dunkirk we enquired on here & got some really useful tips. http://www.italymag.co.uk/community/post/some-advice-about-ferries-routes Our prefered stop these days is the Etap in Frieburg, but that's just 'cos we like Frieburg. Nearby Colmar is also nice with the stunning unterlinden museum. In bocco al lupo!
