Are you wondering about this season’s “must have” accessory?

Look no further for we have found it for you: it is the Dolce & Gabbana “Miss Sicily bag”. Smart, classy and not so small that you have to leave out your lipstick, keys, coins and half the essentials you buy a handbag to transport in the first place, these bags come in a variety of fabrics and colour combinations.

You can also choose a shoulder bag or hand-held version and some versions are convertible. Going to an interview? Carry your resumé in one of these. Need to wow the bank manager? No problem. Or maybe you just hanker for a more elegant yet practical era when handbags were – well, handbags.

First introduced by D&G for this year’s autumn / winter collection, the bag has already been revamped for spring 2010 and comes in combinations such as soft white leather with a white lace flap.
The bags were inspired by “the charm of southern Italian ladies” and what southern “bella” could resist the black and red-leopard-print version? Southern ladies mean business! A trend is to team the business-like bag with a soft and feminine dress, as Margareth Madè, star of Baaria, did at D&G’s Spring / Summer 2010 Fashion Show.

Madonna, Victoria Beckham, Eva Mendes and Peaches Geldof already have their “Sicily bags”, British company Radley have brought out their own versions and of course, there are high street imitations. So what are we waiting for?

Enjoy the video and pay particular attention to the bags!
