Pitti Immagine Uomo is back in Florence - an international fashion stage but also observation point for the evolution of lifestyle and customs.

Over 700 companies will be present with 911 brands (302 of which are foreign) to present their new collections at the Fortezza da Basso from June 18 to 21.

Raffaello Napoleone, general manager of Pitti Immagine, said, ''Pitti Uomo is a unique show of its kind, it is an international platform that brings companies together (for a market reality increasingly product-oriented and with a more commercial approach), the best selection of niche brands and young research projects.

''This is why Florence and Pitti Uomo have always been the place for big brands to launch a new collection or debut an initiative at the global level, but also the place where the most sophisticated buyers find the right stimuli for their international scouting''.

Several brands will present their pre-collections, including PUMA by Mihara Yasuhiro & dress for PLAYSTATION3 (with worldwide exclusive preview of a new fashion software developed by Sony), Italia Independent (launching a new collection and shoe project of the brand headed up by Lapo Elkann), Dirk Bikkembergs, Sundek (with an exhibition/retrospective on the world of surf and a party), Adidas in collaboration with Porsche, and Lee.

Hugo Boss chose Florence and Pitti Uomo to present its BOSS Orange Women's and Men's Spring/Summer Collection 2009, and Ballantyne with the inauguration of the new boutique and a special event in collaboration with Pitti Immagine.

Sensitive rilevatore of the most current and contemporary lifestyle trends, Pitti Uomo decided on the popular theme of environmentally sustainable mobility.

The bicycle is the protagonist of Free Cycle Free Mobility, increasingly the symbol of an everyday esthetic and cult object on the part of a tribe with members all over the world.

Thanks to the collaboration with ANCMA (Associazione Nazionale Ciclo Motociclo Accessori), the bike is seen as a fashion accessory and as a meeting point between ecological passion, Made in Italy, and technology.

Cycles will be the center of an imposing installation designed by Oliviero Baldini in the Fortezza's internal piazza.

Bicycle parts will be used in original ways as graphic elements will be used to decorate the interior sections of the show.
