Italians are generally pleased with the quality of the country's restaurants but many criticise the price they pay for such quality, according to a poll by consumer rights group Codacons.
The survey found that while 82% of Italians are satisfied with the quality of the food served in restaurants, 45% feel the food is overpriced.
Service in restaurants was given passing grades by 75% of Italians while 8% complained for a variety of reasons including hygiene, parking availability and tables being too close together.
