While Melbourne’s Italian-ness can be seen and felt—and above all tasted—beyond the famous Lygon Street, this strip and the surrounding area have been dubbed the city’s Little Italy since the 1950s. The district sits in the leafy green suburb of Carlton in Melbourne’s inner north and it’s where locals flock for an Italian fix.
