A household name in Italy, multi-platinum singer Elisa Toffoli has landed a contract with American recording company Decca. To mark the release of the album, Elisa performed two live concerts in New York City featuring the single "Love is Requited".

On the 13th of March, she debuted songs from "Steppin' On Water" in an intimate acoustic space at the Living Room, a music hall known for showcasing talented artists before they become mega-stars. The following day, she held a press conference and performed at the Italian Cultural Institute.

Elisa has sung in English since the beginning of her recording career in 1997, but the new album "Steppin' On Water" marks her first major U.S. release. The historic Decca label is more than 70 years old and has produced major artists from Ella Fitzgerald to The Rolling Stones to Andrea Bocelli.

Americans may recognise Elisa from her previous album, "Dancing". The title track hit number 16 on the U.S. iTunes top 100 chart and was used on "So You Think You Can Dance" in 2006, twice in 2007, and again in 2008. Her first album released in the U.S., "Dancing" was a pop/rock compilation of original and remixed versions of Elisa's English-language songs.

"Steppin' on Water" marks a return to organic, folk music for Elisa. Focussing on natural subjects infused into ballads and up-tempo adult pop, the new sound is a reflection of Elisa's new role in life as a mother.
