Over the Christmas period, some of us will be taking holidays, so the word of the week is ferie, holidays.
The typical period of ferie in Italy is during Christmas or Easter time or in the summer, usually in August, when you’ll see signs on some shops and businesses informing you that the establishment is closed for holidays - chiuso per ferie.
