Who doesn’t love a good Italian recipe?! We think we all do, and that’s the Word of the Week: ricetta – recipe.

The plural is ricette.

Potete mandarmi quella deliziosa ricetta: Can you send me that delicious recipe (formal). 

Ricetta in Italian has another meaning that has nothing to do with food: it can also mean ‘prescription’.

Or, it can also be used in a figurative sense, meaning solution, remedy, fix, as in “la ricetta anti-crisi”, the anti-crisis solution.

But today, we stick to food - instead of the usual song video, we have selected one by the BBC's Italy Unpacked series, which pays a visit to Bologna, the land of hand-made pasta and here, you can see how it's made:
