12241 Utility connection from 200m away?

Hi There

We've come across a ruin in Le Marche we like the look of and are investigating the whole process of restoring (or more likely rebuilding) a farmhouse. The property in question has no utilities but access to water and electricity is described as available from a neighbouring property 200m away. How much of an issue is this likely to be? I'm assuming you have to get the utility company to lay in the new pipes and cables so it could be rather expensive? Anyone have any experience of the order of magnitude involved?

Cheers

Be very careful as there can be objections from the locals, re pylons etc going over their land. Get a geometre to sound out everything first. Enel can supply and overide most things, probably as with the water company, but you must get quotations in the first instance for the installation of each service.
Phone lines seem to be more difficult!!!

Thanks .. . So it sounds like any compromesso should have conditions relating to the successful provision of services? Is that sort of thing common??

Roger

Yes Roger you are correct. Good luck with that approach. Around here it was cement poles rather than Pylons for Electricity. Took two years but that was back in 1998. Things hopefully have improved.
