5 Swimming Pools - Puglia

Can any one give any recommendations for people to build swimming pools - and a rough idea of what an average size one should cost (roughly). And of course any other tips. Thanks!

Assume a basic pool to cost about 550 euro / m2. This does not include paving surrounds. Something more elaborate would approach the 650 euro mark and an infinity effect would add roughly 25 - 30% onto the basic price.

There are very many types and forms and the price will depend on the type you choose. A common configuration would be 10m x 5 m with a roman step at one end and you should expect to pay about €525 - €550 per sq.m for a good quality system. That will include the pool, step, liner pump and coping stones as well as the installation and a 10 year guarantee on the structure. It should include the excavation providing there are no unusual circumstances but it will not include the water. If you cannot fill the pool from another source, it costs about €500/€600 for a pool of this size (in our region). Planning permission is normally obtained with the help of a geometra and your commune may require a geological survey.

Extras will include the paving around, which can be quite significant with a big pool. You should also think about a winter cover and possibly a pool cleaning machine.

The pagine gialle will have a number of pool companies - in terms of the ongoing honouring of warranties, service and the quality of the installation it is as well to stick with a pool specialist with a good quality product rather than a general builder - pool specialists will be available in August if you have a problem!!

Mostly people are often confused about the size of a swimming pool. The size of a swimming pool usually depends on your needs. A 25' long pool is more than enough for anyone who loves to play around a big pool. One more thing that needs to be taken care of regularly is the swimming pool repair.
