12240 Apartment in Emilia-Romagna

We'll be visiting the Emilia-Romagna region next month, mostly for the Mille Miglia but also for the possibility of buying an apartment in Ferrara/Modena/Ravenna or similar. The property search is a bit coy on pricing so it is diffcult to know what we'd be getting if we were looking for 2 beds under 90,000 euros, for self/family/friends or posible holiday rental. Is it worth contacting estate agents (UK or Italy?) before we go or just take pot luck, looking in agents windows/local advertising when we get there? What sort of questions should we be asking on our first foray into Italian property ownership?

Write a wish list of all the things you want and definitely don't want (like a pile of stones) and look on as many property websites in the area you want as you can.

Then if you contact the agents to arrange viewings at least then they can arrange to show you properties that meet at least some of your requirements.

Having said that we've just bought a property that only had one thing on our wish list and that was a view...........

Good luck - it's great fun!

Welcome to the Forum. Some time ago, we also looked at Ravenna, but it was fairly expensive. Very popular with Italians. Good luck and best wishes.

Hi All,

Just wondering when companies like Lucetti and Partners were allowed to advertise on the Forum, which I believe they have twice today, if this is the case the forum will become just an advertising forum for all.........

Twice today? Don't you mean SEVEN times? :winki:

Hi,
I think Ferrara has lower prices, I live in Bologna....Bologna it's very expensive...but you can find something between bologna and ferrara.
Ravenna....well, depends on what you are looking for, if you want to stay in someone of the smaller towns under Ravenna Province you can maybe find something at your price...Modena....I just don't like it! :-P
By the way....goooogle around on internet....find some properties to visit and contact Estate Agents....give them all the things you'd like to have from your new home...and...if you find something that really match your research....then find a good geometra/architect/engineer to check that home! Choose it by yourself, better if not from same place....to assure you that there are no links between vendor-estate agent-surveyor
Good Luck!
