I've had this problem Try a new key, a very light, light touch. Maybe get someone else to have a go. My friend got it open whereas I had tried time and time again.

I have a key stuck in my outside door lock. The key will turn left and right but never far enough either way to actually engage the lock. The door can still be opened from the inside, but this means someone must always be home.

I have one of those long keys that goes with my heavy duty lock. I have tried spray to lubricate it, but to no avail.

Any other suggestions? Or can someone recommend a fabbro (smith) in Rome? It sounds like an expensive problem to have...

We are just about to replace our central heating boiler (oil fired) as currently the old one does not comply with current regulations including the fact the the door to the room where the boiler is located should have a vent in it. Does anyone know what size this vent has to be to make it legal? We are having a new door made and the man who is making it does not know what size the vent should be.
