Description In the 1300's this building was a watch tower, converted to an Abbey in the 1700's and rescued by the current owner and converted to a splendid 6 bedroom family home. The roof was completely restored in the late 90's and the restoration completed in the early 2000's. Entering the courtyard with its ancient olive trees gives one the feeling that they have arrived at a place of sincere historical importance. Many of the original features remain completely intact immediately observed by the vaulted entrance hall with wide staircases leading to the upper floors and down the old cantina. The ground floor reception room with its high cross vaults and open fireplace is magnificent. The huge vaulted kitchen with a central fresco is fully fitted with a cherry wood kitchen and corner open fireplace. The upper two levels have oak flooring and apart from the 6 bedrooms including the master suite with dressing room and full ensuite bathroom has a formal forty eight square meter living room with open fireplace high ceiling and large windows. There is also a small vaulted office on the 1st floor. The courtyard is formed around the main house, the old hunting lodge and the joining wall complete with castelations. The ex hunting lodge and stable has been partially restored and the ground floor used as a limonaia has room for the convertible whilst the upper room of 40 square meters with external access will easily convert to a self contained apartment or even a couple of extra bedrooms or studio.. Below the main courtyard is a ruined barn of about 100 square meters that requires virtually rebuilding big enough to house a small classic car collection, a studio to satisfy the most demanding artist,, a stable or simply a home for the Corgi's. Approximately 13 hectares of land with formal gardens, 2 hectares of mature olives, some woods and about 9 hectares of arable land which is rented on an annual basis to a enamouring farmer. Plenty of room for a pool The Village is just a three minute drive and although private and protected by its own land this property is not isolated and one can walk to the shop. The Antognola 18 hole golf course is just a short drive as is Lake Trasimeno for a fish supper.
