We are in the sparkling lagoon of Venice and precisely in Cavallino Treporti; at sunset, the sun, fiery and red, caresses the sea.
The only silhouette on the horizon is the small silhouette of a distant and silent "batela".
In front of us the small and characteristic cottage that we are going to visit.
The façade of a soft blue with large windows with blue shutters welcomes us in the garden of almost 40 meters all tiled in antique terracotta. Shaded by practical curtains, it is suitable both to enjoy these last minutes of sunshine before a pleasant evening begins and to get a tan as soon as the sun peeks again.
We do not have time to enter that the ancient oriental style, typical of the Serenissima, welcomes us pleasantly. On our left we see a neoclassical marble column without grooves, which juxtaposes the elegant and luminous living area.
All the flooring on the ground floor is in a pleasant and elegant Venetian grit in which furnishings have been cleverly inserted in contrast with the whiteness of the room that create a harmonious alternation of light and dark.
We open the sliding glass door, decorated with a chromatic checkerboard by a Murano glass master, to look out onto the corridor. From here we have access to the kitchen that overlooks the other small garden of the house, also entirely paved in antique terracotta, shaded with a curtain and with an exit to a secondary street. On the same floor there is also a first comfortable bedroom, ideal as an office or for hosting friends and acquaintances and a windowed bathroom with shower and the irreplaceable utility room.
From the stairs covered with typical Venetian majolica hand-decorated with floral motifs, we go up to the first floor. We immediately notice the elegant wooden parquet floors. Here we find a large double bedroom that enjoys a priceless view of the sea and furnished with period furniture and the four-poster bed takes us with thought to distant times, reviving the elegance of the eighteenth century. The other bedroom is also double, also welcoming, if we consider the space necessary to place two beds, a bookcase and a desk for the study.
Completing the floor we have the second bathroom with window, with shower and bathtub with whirlpool which is a riot of white and ammonite red marble.
Among the suggestion of living in a time as remote as present, with elegant features, well cared for and maintained, the use of materials of exceptional quality, both ancient and contemporary - think of the lanterns that dominate the terrace, the neoclassical column, the dark of the entrance reminiscent of those of a sailing boat, the glassy colors of the sliding door in the corridor, combined with the location, which allows you to enjoy one of the most beautiful and characteristic sunsets in Italy - the only thing left is one view of the villa with an eclectic taste to appreciate and decide where you spend your next vacation or the everyday life of your life.
