Gala is right, I have seen them on amazon.it. Most Italians use a stove top pressure cooker for similar results, though much quicker. These you will find in any kitchen store and work very well.

Thanks guys - are the ones on amazon wired for use here or will I have to have a voltage regulator?

From reading the reviews, the plug is British, so an adaptor will be needed (Amazon also sells them). Alternatively, take it to your local electrician and he can change the plug.

An adaptor is not a problem but I bought one in the states and a voltage regulator and it worked for 10 minutes and then burnt out - so I am worried about the toltage - is that the same in Britian and Italy? - I appreicate your help!

I have never had problems with British appliances and I have used them in Italy, France and Spain. The adaptor is all what I need.

If you buy it on amazon.it it is designed to be used in Italy. Amazon.co.uk won't ship most items with any type of electronics outside the UK.

The reviews on the product published by Amazon Italy ( in Italian) contain 3 remarks mentioning the need for an adaptor. There is also another review which gives the product a bad mark simply because it did not have an adaptor and they had difficulties finding one ( rather surprising as they are available even at supermarkets....)
