Tutte le cose belle prima o poi finiscono may ring a bell to some, but what this means for those scratching their heads right now is that "all good things must come to an end."

For the past eight years, Italy Magazine has been more than a job; it has been a massive part of my life. However, this will be my last newsletter with Italy Magazine as I pursue new opportunities in my dual homes of Switzerland and Italy. It has been a lovely ride for almost a decade, and I am beyond proud of what we've achieved together in sharing the Italy we love.

Together with a team of passionate Italophiles, we've covered countless topics about Italy. I've been lucky to have met some incredible individuals through this work and share their stories, especially regarding issues I'm personally quite passionate about, such as promoting sustainable travel and supporting local artisans

So, with great fondness, I will pass the 'torch' to the talented Mary Gray, who will take over as Managing Editor from next week. Mary is an uber-talented freelance journalist and editor whose work has appeared in The Washington Post, Forbes Travel Guide, and Time Out, and she has called Italy home for the past 10 years.

I personally got to know Mary at The Florentine where she launched one of my favorite columns of all times called "Rental Diaries" which formed the basis for her book of the same name.  Just imagine all of your rental horror stories and reflections, neatly compiled in a humorous smorgasbord of literary snapshots. Along with this role, she also teaches courses in travel writing and fashion communications for several university programs in Florence.

As always, I will remain a passionate reader and supporter of the Italy Magazine cause, and trust me when I say there is so much to look forward to this 2022. Bellissimo "Puglia" is now in its final edits and Buongiorno's newsletter will be out on the first Wednesday of July.

Highlights from this week's content lineup

With a base near the sea, a writer explores the sunny beaches, ancient ruins, and tempting wineries of Sicily's west

Scattered along 700 km of coastline, the beaches of Puglia are among southern Italy's finest. But what are Puglia's very best waterside destinations? We have picked three of the most scenic ones.

The Alta Langa is a less touristy and slower area than the Bassa Langa, known for Barolo and Dolcetto d'Alba wines and crowded medieval villages, but it boasts a natural and gastronomic heritage worth experiencing

Italy is experiencing one of its worst droughts, with the Po river, Italy's longest, at an all-time low.

Luxury sports car aficionados may turn up their nose seeing Ferrari and electric in the same sentence. And yet, here goes: the Italian luxury carmaker will launch its first electric-only vehicle in 2025.

What's summer without the Italian summertime classic dish, spaghetti with clams? Learn more in this week's dual-language article

This lovely apartment with beautiful views is for sale in the historic part of Scalea, a town on the southwest coast "Riviera dei Cedri' of northern Calabria, known for its beautiful old town and pretty beaches.

With a final, very fond, farewell, I wish you all a wonderful weekend!
