On the brink of “middle age,” Barga’s Fish and Chips Festival is still feeling young and healthy. This could be the slogan for the 41st edition of the quirky, two-week-long Scottish-Tuscan Sagra di pesce e patate, which is coming up on August 4 to 17 in Barga, near Lucca. 

These days, the fact that this small Tuscan town has deep ties to Scottish culture is no longer news; Barga is famous all over Italy and Scotland, and its locals have been emigrating to Braveheart count
