Roberto Benigni will be working on Woody Allen’s Rome-based feature film when shooting begins this summer.

Allen, who has kept the project under tight wraps, recently revealed more information about the flick and cleared up false speculation regarding the title and theme.

The film will be made up of four vignettes that have reportedly been inspired by Giovanni Boccaccio's Decameron, a collection of bawdy tales written in the 1350s.

It was previously rumored that the project was titled The Wrong Picture, but Allen denied this. The movie’s working title is currently Bop Decameron.

Allen is thrilled to be reworking the medieval tales with Benigni on board.

"He's going to be in it and I'm delighted at his presence. If I think of Italian cinema today the first name that comes into my head is that of Roberto," Allen told an Italian television program.

The Roman movie will be Allen’s first venture into Italian-language filmmaking.
