Men of the Cloth,” an inspiring documentary about three Italian master tailors sharing their pride and devotion for an old-world craft in danger of disappearing, will have its Washington D.C. premiere on Tuesday, October 14.

“Men of the Cloth”, directed by Vicki Vasilopoulos, tells the story of Nino Corvato, Checchino Fonticoli and Joe Centofanti, accomplished tailors who create masterpieces of elegance and style.

The film explores the artistry of custom tailoring, a craft whose roots are in the Italian Renaissance. It also explores the role of custom tailors in the 21st century, when ready-to-wear clothing and the industrialization of the tailoring trade means many of these artisans have had to abandon their beloved craft. But is also shows how there are some young people eager to enter this ancient trade.

The film is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at the West End Cinema (2301 M St NW, Washington, DC 20037).

Funded by the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF), the film initially premiered at DOC NYC, the largest documentary film festival in the United States.
