In September I'm doing the nearest I'll ever do to jetsetting by flying back to London for a meeting then out again the next day! I'm planning to leave the hire car at Ciampino overnight. I suppose I might persuade Hertz to let me park it with them... alternatively does anyone know what the parking routine is at this airport??

I've called the Comune and they told me that's all very clear on their website and they cannot provide website support. Bummer!
So, I'm still not very clear about the rate I will have to pay, but as I've understood so far I would have to pay 0.76% of my share of the property (my father and his wife live there - I don't! - he owns 50% and I have the other 50% and live in UK).
Is that 0.76%of the 'rendita catastale'? E.g.: if rendita catastale is for instance, 100 euros, then 100 x (0.76/100)?

Hi Everyone
I think its time to find out your bad or good experiences when you took the final step to Italy.
We are moving over in the next 3-4 weeks from Wiltshire UK to Marche and all though we think everything is going smooth there is always something that jumps up and bites you.
It will be good to here about your move over if you can bare to go through it again.
