Problem with site/

Is there a problem with the site? or is it my computer?
When I click on the arrow at the bottom of the list of recent posts which is the past takes you to the next page, it opens the first post on page 1.
I tried yesterday too and it was the same. I don't look at the community/forum very often and so like to look back at the recent posts, but I am limited to the first page.

TV from router to screen?

A question for TV techies if I may. I know about getting catchup TV etc from the UK by using a VPN and this works fine to a computer. However, I want to go further and get HD TV on the big screen along with use of the 5.1 THX amplifier for sound; all via HDMI.
I am wondering about an Xtreamer Sidewinder 2 media streamer driven via a WiFi router which can permanently maintain the VPN for the streamer but keep normal for other connections. Has anyone done this or have any better ideas please?

Tomato chutney recipe

Submitted by rosietat on

Having enjoyed an abundance of delicious "Fiorentino" tomatoes all summer from 4 plants, the first ground frost has arrived in Casentino Alto, and I have now lots of green tomatoes. My day yesterday was a chutney one and I made 3 batches. Recipe no 1 was Nigel Slater - a bit sharp, probably good with cheese. Recipe 2 -Good Housekeeping with apple made me think of Roast Pork, so I decided to make up my own using ingredients that would go together. The result was good and will be used as a bruschetta topping. I thought I would share it with you---

American Mortgage

A lovely American lady who's ancestors are from my village would like to buy my apartment. She has asked me whether it would be possible for her to obtain a small mortgage to help her to do so of around €40k The property is fully restored and has clean title. So the question is can an American buy in Italy (very likely) and how would an American go about obtaining a mortgage and from whom?

making ends meet

Submitted by Sabina on

In these tough times - I am sure that there are others, like me, struggling to make ends meet. I work from home translating.. and have some mobility problems so anything outside the home is not really feasible. In this area - people only seem to want to pay 10 Euro for an hour long English lesson (for kids - adults don't seem to be bothered - and the kids are only there because they have to be) - at their house, so also involves travelling to and from. By the time you've prepared the lesson - and perhaps marked "homework" at home - it hardly seems worthwhile.
