Sicilian Street Food

Street food in Sicily was popular long before 'foodies' made this type of food fashionable.

In every market, street corner, kiosk around the island you find stalls offering ready-to-eat local food; and by local we often mean 'super-local', food and ingredients that at times you only find in a specific town or area, like Palermo's Pani ca meusa (bread rolls with spleen), unavailable in other parts of Sicily.

In the following slideshow, we give you a taste of this colorful world.
