Just a warning for everyone, a few days ago a friend was badly stung by wasps that had formed a nest inside an outside shed, he was attacked when entering and required urgent hospital treatment.

Trying to find my way around this new community, and am slightly better than I was, but with so many threads I am now having difficulty in remembering which one I posted in, so searching for an answer is a task in itself, any easy way to track you

Depends on if you are a basic cleaner , or someone that managers the property for a client.....I KNOW rather than guess that Penny has got the hourly rate just about right. It is also dependant on the level of service required by the client.....eg bottom sheets ironed. And on a another level that you can be called on as the key-holder to any emergency (and these do happen!).

Generous, but very wasteful of energy resources, maybe people elswhere need to be mindful before they switch on, and educated on the fact that these things are not infinate. A very dispiriting article in the Guardian today on the world food crisis, especially with regard to climate change, and the failure of crops. Dont know what it would take for people to wake up to the fact that the future of their children and granchildren is at  risk.

We run the house and the apartment on 3kw....has only tripped once in 6 years when 3 guests were using hairdryers at the same time!. Always hob gas kettle, but we have an English toaster and washing machine.I guess we live rather simply without the need or the want for too many appliances. Alans warning re unplugging the computer when there is a storm is well founded. Had a lightning strike in the house which blew up the printer and as I was standing next to it at the time taught me a lesson about unplugging as well as logging out.

Get a good commercialista...one that has other ex-pat clients and is used to dealing with their needs.

Interesting...today we had a visit from Italian neighbours who live in a flat above the local supermarket. They have 4 houses to sell, two in the village and two in the countryside.....inherited from family, they are by no means wealthy, I would guess the opposite.
