if i have done this right hopefully some news of it will appear and people will add their comments and views and often help its also a relevant time because importantly here in Italy its that time of year where you start seriously protecting you f

well its not true that you have to and if i had paid more attention to other posts in the past i could help you with the rules.. so sorry for not helping... someone else might..however these are Italian rules and apply garage to garage..... some know some not ...could be worth doing a search on the old forum.. basically because we are residents... and have bought cars as such its been of little interest... shows how  its better to read everythingi guess what i am saying is that whatever has been told you... is most probably how they are applying the rules.. but it is not true... and if its areal problem... who wants to pay a full new car price... then it will take at least a search on the old forum and pretty good Italian to argue your case...

seems simple to me too... if someone has an interest they will post.. what the benefit of the group system is on here is that it as gala says is almost a sub forum allowing subjects to be grouped together... and most probably will tie into the tag systema lot of what seems to me to be going "wrong" is due to the success of the place...  often quoted in the past was the difference between membership numbers and active posters... and that without a select few the place would go down the tubes... this now has been shown to be untrue... in my opinion ... and we have new posts and news members... if i try and look at new posts i end up with 9 pages.... cannot cope...so groups/tags will eventually help in narrowing this down... i also find it hard still to work out where the posts i am interested in are... i know i could look... but am used to doing things automatically.... ok this is getting easier... because i am working out where to look but it always comes down to the numbers... really the input is overwhelming me and i know for sure that  i have / am missing posts or replies that i might well be interested in but never get to see them unless someone  replies and they get into the first page of new posts again..i do not have the time to read through all nine pages... and am sure its going to increase...  what will happen then say is a new member...having their first post down at page 3 or 4 will maybe not have had a reply and think we are all snooty...or whatever... maybe even one of those rare emergency questions that needed a quick answer... so there is tuning... i know people are working hard... and i agree with much of what Kevan said ... i for one will stick with it... i know its not right at the moment ... but i think its been shown that input from our side is picked up very quickly... some is solvable by adding standard new features... other parts will require re writing and longer time... i think its getting there

in the private messages a number has started appearing beside the all messages labelmessages come through fine... i think people are talking about just the subject line missing... however this is hard to confirm... unless soemones sends a message with the title line contained within the main text... logging in from another computer appears to be ok... however... there seems to be a system being set up where an approved person gets on and then hands out there details to others.... not saying this is what is happening with david...  but maybe there is some fall out on this...  i know seems stupid that people despite their statements of non interest still want to get here... but there you go...

if you look at the top of the page there is a green option " create content"click on that you can go to create group...  click on that you can set up a calabrian area... which in a sense to me makes a more valid community space if it is set up by someone from the area... and with ten years there you will know more than most...keep it public if possible... gets you more interest...  and really from what i can see the group thing works well ... Marche seems to be flying along... so it will be good to see some competition...  obviously when Ronald set p this way of things he was thinking of sunny days on the beach... and letting us all get on with our own thing... makes a lot of sense and i think if you have the time... it would be an excellent step to take...Gala i think posted on groups ... and her thoughts seemed to be that if you are willing to put in a bit of time... keep up interest and new info then they go along quite nicely... i chickened out a bit on the work side and opted to do a pets one... which is obviously going to have input with little work... because everyone seems to have a dog cat or chicken... and a story to tell

penny is right about the law here... the dogs have to have a barrier fitted... that is if you carry more than one dog... a new italian law...well a couple of years old... and am sure that for local drives if you live here you would be unlikely to be caught out by it... however if driving down and you are at a border area then if they have nothing better to do you might well be stopped...the other point is that for your own safety... any object behind you in a car not tied down in a situation where the car stops suddenly is basically going to kill you  so in a practical self preservation sense the dogs should at least be attached to the seat belt systemagree about the Defra people and your own vet...working together they are the best font of knowledge on foreign travel with animals... the tunnel thing when we moved over was that no pets were allowed... so can see where you might be getting older news... in that sense but from the posts above it now seems to be a common enough journey for animals and like someone said much more comfortable and less scary for them...due to the fact the ferry companies went on strike the day we left we got a transfer onto the tunnel ...would have chosen it but they didnt allow pets then... and we just didnt tell them we had a dog on board... got through with no probs...the other thing to note is that Italy has some diseases in certain areas that are very harmful to dogs... am not sure that i would choose to bring dogs on a sort of touring holiday unless there are no alternatives.. the heat is a major problem if you are not sya driving to your own house...as others have posted the journey ...providing you keep moving and give comfort breaks is easy enough,... but an extended trip looking around Italy might well be harder on them... you will know yourself whats best... as others  have said best of luck with it...  a camper van sounds like a good idea ... and it would be easy enough i would think to get some sort of wired door fitted to make it legal to carry more than one dog...

am showing the last bit to our son...... the first four points i read out to the dogs ... and they accept that there might be some validity to these and will try betterthe non pet thing we sorted by changing the house we moved to so that it only now has two bedrooms...  and we need them both so visitors and family stay at an agriturismo down the road...  life is so much easier... for the dogs that is thanks for this ... am printing it out for our fridge door

we have worked with many of the UK based Italian specialists in the past but have always found that they use or used us as their source of information which to us seemed a bit ridiculous... whats the point of independent legal advice when you are asking someone involved in a sale to check things for you i know by law the agents role if registered here is clearly defined as are their responsibilities...anyway another story ... Charlotte Oliver is the first solicitor used in a sale by us that requested all the papers and then actually visited the property and went over it with a fine tooth-comb to check it out, attended the the final act and wrote most of it and able to clearly see waht was and wasnt as regards the propertya first with us that the buyers solicitor actually knew the property and since then she is the only one we suggest if someone needs requires help after that ... choice is theirs of course the other point about your initial story is that this is not a rare occurrence from what i have heard and indeed there seems to be some cross over now between development companies and Anglo Italian law firms in carrying out sales that have ended up with problems at least similar to the ones you mentionedgood to see posts that are making people aware of problems.. knowledge is all

another point which i thought of whilst having strimming nightmares is the fact that if both or either of you are going to be picking olives is the other good thing about a small pulling unit...ie you put the boxes of olives in a trailor to get them back up to the barn or whatever...due to age ... i have also become lazy and on a hot day load all the hand held stuff, petrol cans etc...etc... ice box with beer and other sustenance and head off down hill...further point is the trimming and wood carrying... olive twigs are good for starting barbeques... and barnches excellent for log fires... both weigh a ton...understand problems with places if you are not there all the time.. but if that is the case i would choose a cheapo strimmer from castorama or some such place... and manage with it for a while...  getting a decent sized one will only cost a couple of hundred euro i aslo used to have various machines from husquana in the UK...  they make good chain saws... and strimmers and chose one of those from a local shop for the ride on...  here ... because had had them in the UK... however did not take account of the fact that the hills here are just as steep as they feel when walking and the damn machine took off as soon as i headed down the slope and was lucky to walk away... well limp from the ensuing tangle... not a scratch on the machine which went back to the shop the next day and we ended up with as i mentioned before a quite serious peice of safe equipment... with a full hydraulic system that you just set the speed on and it brakes by itself with the wheels locked together... good luck with it all
