I work in the wedding business here in Italy so if anyone needs advice, I'm happy to help where I can!

Quite simply for the huge saving on insurance alone, I would NOT buy in Italy...I'm resident all the time so had to but it's definitely not worth it when compared to what people pay back home....and I'm in the top insurance group with only a small car!   Good luck whatever you decide to do!

Been here already...done that mean spliced? Or diced again afterwards...so to speak?

As someone who has had countless negative encounters with the 'lovely' ENEL people, I can only say congrats for having the staying power and ability to finally get them to listen to you...and act too! Really, really well done!

Hi Lisa Down here in the Naples area, Marco Cantarella is v. well known and he is generally v. well respected by those in the know and musicians both locally, nationally and abroad. He organises wedding music...anything from the Neapolitan Posteggia, through jazz and blues arrangements, to DJs and big band...if he can't help then he probably knows someone who can and I don't think distance is an issue at all. You can visit his website at www.weddingmusic.it Hope this helps, Carmen

I didn't say because I didn't want to look like I was advertising. Basically, when I see nice people lose out simply because they didn't have enough/the right info I don't think it's fair, hence my post! I work with a photography studio and on a freelance basis I work with a couple of agencies as a planner/interpreter, so I'm really involved in different aspects of a wedding. Haven't divorced anyone yet though. Mind you an American couple did once ask me (about 25 mins after being married) if they would have to come back to Italy to get divorced...so maybe! :)
