Hi,check what your commune require, each interpret the law differently. My commune in Abruzzo asked for health cover and others in the same region did not!!The health insurance was min €30,000 cover and €5,000 in your bank account.Hope this helps. You can also find more help if you type residency in the community search box.

Hi Bellante,What part of Abruzzo were you living. We have a house nearly finished restoration but not moved out permanantly in Atessa.Sorry to hear of your problem.Maybe if you are able to give good advice for future bureaucracy.

Hi Godzillavilla,When you had the roof renovated they should have put thermal insulation between the cotto tiles. Not sure what it is called but it keeps you cool in summer and keeps the heat in when its colder. This would be part of the building regs required when you had your plans approved. All the best Atessa.

Hello, have recently bought in Abruzzo/Chieta/Atessa which is not far from the coastal town of Vasto. It is a picturesque country area of rolling hillsides, hilltop villages and a little further inland the mountains, which form part of the largest national park in Italy. We first used Housearounditaly,on our first visits, they have lots of properties more inland, mountain regions. After our 3rd visit and (various agents) we decided on more of the country area closer to the coast, for this we used the services of Betterproperty.Italy.We are now renovating our old country house.Just a word of warning make sure your agent is registered, some are not and you can have problems!!Am also not long a member on this site but have found the members information very good indeed! All the best.

Hi,check what your commune requires, some do not ask for health insurance. If they do, your cover should be a minimum of €30,000 and a minimum of €5,000 in your Italian bank account.Hope that is of some help.

Its good to know our money is in safe hands! Agree that non of us would like to be put to the test with the banks guarantee.I also have great distrust of financial institutions, although with the banks you can withdraw your money unlike the pension companies, the crisis is taking its toll on my pension fund, they all keep making money from my fund, except me!!and i cnnot get my hands on my money!!!YES I ALSO DISTRUST.
