Can we have something like a sticky?

Penny I agree with you there is a problem! I searched for "health" and most of the previous postings came up and then it was just a matter of going painstakingly through them until one finds the relevant material (if any).  Not too difficult you would think! This is what I do with Google, Wikipedia, Wikitravel, Encyclopedia Britannica, UK and Italian Government sites, NHS Direct and, for that matter, any site that I need to consult for some specific information.  Recently, I thought that this site could make available, as downloads, the most relevant circulars and laws on the popular topics about living in Italy; but then I thought there is a snag, who will take responsibilty for updating them because one could mislead by not making available the latest advice.  This is an onerous task that I do not think is fair to ask of the site organisers.  It is admirable, to say the least, that you have made available, for easy download, the circulars that you have found during your research.  If these were to stay on top of the list then they must be the most up-to-date available and it is a task that I would not wish on you.  At the risk of being even more controversial, most of the legal or quasi legal questions that I have encountered on this site could have been answered by consulting the UK-in-Italy website, the British Embassy website in Rome (this site is after all funded by taxes on UK residents).  One could ask the organisers of this site to make available on this site, links to other websites like UK-in-Italy, The Italian Ministry of Health, The Notaio etc, but then it is up to Ronald &co  to decide whether doing this fits their commercial aims and if does fit what resources they are willing to devote to its development and maintenance. Back to the problem, one wants to be as helpful as possible, but I must admit, sometimes I ask myself why the poster does not do a simple site search?     

I agree Serge, it is dificult. The problem with the UK -IN-ITALY website, that I found is their English version of our healthcare rights is correct but the Italian version is a completely different document (and not of any help). Very misleading unless your Italian is OK. I guess they have the same problem as us!

 Hi,thanks for the content you wish to add. It would be useful for many people I guess! Unfortunately the sticky option is not available right now... That would be great from you, to set an open group putting there all things related! As an alternative, you could set a wiki post, so that people who are aware of changes about the laws can edit it.

I think the idea was Al that different provinces appear to interpret  the rules in a different way. And this was Pennys trip through the officialdom in the area of Marche in which she and other interested community members live.A

 Hi, that would be a good idea to title the group "Healthcare in Italy", if members would add content related to the whole Italian territory.Though, I think we need also to consult the group founder and ask her why she opted to title it "Healthcare in Marche". Penny, what do you think?

I am completely open to suggestions but the reason I created the Marche Healthcare group was for stuff specific to Marche. There is already a Health topic and I left all the generic messages and my message with links to all the docs in the general Health topic as well. A lot of the stuff I am finding out is completely specific to Marche and does not apply to other regions so could confuse people. For example, it seems as if only the Ascoli Piceno ASUR is insisting on only issuing an annual libretto sanitaria (against the law by the way!). Another member in Alto Adige has successfully got her indefinite libretto with no problems at all. I had kind of assumed that the health messages relating to the whole of Italy would stay in the Health topic and anything specific to Marche (and probably boring to anyone else)  would go into Marche Healthcare. Does that sound reasonable?
