Hi Catherine.  It's nice to here from our American cousins!  I'm making the assumption you are AmericanDo you speak italian?   I am slowly learning the language.  I have come to realise that most of the self  learning courses available in the UK are from the USA !  I  have booked a week near Rome next year.  Like your goodself  I am a lover of Italia and enjoy discovering their history and culture.Hope you enjoy this brilliant website as much as I do.Take care now !

Hi Catherine.  Welcome to the site.  I hope you spend many happy hours here and eventually find the Italian pad of your dreams.

Thanks for the welcome.  I'd love to spend some  time in Campania.  I've been looking @ some real estate sites and I thought real estate was high here in the U.S.  I speak no Italian - just love the culture - my grandparents were from Italy so I have an inner connection I guess.

It will take you quite a bit of time to find the right location and the right property for you. Take it easy and don't rush. Some areas are quite expensive in Italy. If you are looking at the Amalfi Coast, it has always been prime real estate and this will not change even with a recession. Was your family originally from that area?

Hi again,I'm not certain if my grandparents were from Campania but it is quite possible.   I think my grandmother may have lived in Naples.  It is very expensive to trace ancestry but I hope to be able to do that at some point.  I do imagine that attempting to buy real estate while living abroad will be very difficult.  It is very difficult to get Italy out of your blood once you have visited.  LOL.
