They’ve dressed Madonna, Taylor Lautner and Kate Beckinsale. Now it’s the turn of Britain’s Chelsea football team to be dressed by Dolce and Gabbana. In a deal announced yesterday, the Italian duo, who already design for AC Milan players and the Italian national squad, will design clothes for the “Blues” for the next three years.

Domenico Dolce told ANSA,
“Players are style icons on and off the field and that combines with our love for England and for London, which has always been an inspiration for our work”.
He also said that he and Stefano Gabbana are big football fans.

Under the contract Dolce and Gabbana will also redesign the Chelsea club’s directors’ lounge and reception area.

The first designs will be ready for the opening of the British premier league season next month and will include a three-piece suit, a poplin shirt, a jacquard tie and a cashmere coat. Chelsea’s lion crest will be embroidered on the suit pocket and on the coat. What colour will the suits be?
Blue, of course!
