Eco-Energy: public competition for renewable energy700,000 euro for projects relating to geothermal energy - The Consortium for the Development of Geothermal Areas (COSVIG), which aids private entities and companies wishing to switch from electric to renewable energy, has announced a new competition.

In play is 700,000 euro for projects presented by the territories of the 16 Tuscan municipalities in the traditional geothermal area and the Amiata in the provinces of Pisa, Siena and Grosseto.

COSVIG commented: ''In line with the Region's programme that gives incentives for the use of renewable energy on the part of private citizens and companies, there is a desire for clean energy, conscientious uses of resources and an increase in interest for this type of material in Tuscany''.

Selected participants will receive a free grant contribution equalling 30% of their bill and 20% relative to solar panels.

50,000 euro for each initiative that must include use of geothermal energy, biomass, wind energy, hydro produced energy or solar energy.

Over 500 projects were presented at the last COSVIG competition.

In an effort to have a similarly successful competition, COSVIG will publicize with an informational campaign and through direct contact with citizens in the territories.
