Italians spending more

Italians were more ready to spend in the last quarter of 2006 and the inclination should extend through the first quarter of the current year, according to a study by the Censis research group for the Confcommercio retailers association.

The study found that 30% of Italians expected to spend more in the first there months of the year with preference going to furniture, appliances, technological products and computers.

In the last quarter of 2006, 33.5% of Italians were inclined to spend more, compared to 25.5% for the same period in 2005.
