Looking at a courtyard in Umbria I saw a tradescanthia plant, the one sometimes non-pc called wandering Jew. Got hold of a couple and potted up on my terrace in Lazio and lo and behold they thrive mightily. Don't mind overwatering, neglect, and drought and if given a bit of feed and regular water really do well and hardy here. Quite a lot to choose from, tho not much in the way of flowers. Try them - put our struggling house plnts in UK to shame. Anybody else succeded with these?

For anyone looking to run a bed and breakfast (or already running one) there is an excellent article in this month's "Cose di Case" magazine (August). It goes through on a region by region basis the various requirements (ie maximum stay, maximum number of rooms, minimum room size etc) and the various taxes payable, fines for non compliance of regulations etc. (which is now becoming a more serious issue). The article is obviously written in Italian and only three pages long but in my opinion gives a very comprehensive guide to the subject.

We plan to go fishing in the lakes of the Sibillini mountains in Marche during August.
I and my son have had no luck so far although the fish jump around us and locals regularly hook them.
I can check the local bait when I am over but do you have any advice - I like to fly fish and my son uses spinners.

Hello eveyone.
A question about conveyancing: I understand the difference in the Uk between Tenants in Common and Joint Tenancy, I also understand the difference in Italy between Comunione dei Beni and Seperazione, what I don't understand is why, when a married couple buys a property in Italy the Notaio always asks the couple which regime they are under as regards their property in the Uk. Any thoughts or clarifactions?
Also, why can't a couple opt for one or the other (Comunione or Seperazione) when buying in Italy?
Any help gratefully received.
