Located less than a 100 m away from the Ponte Vecchio this centralli located trattoria is excellent value for money. You will find it on a narrow street called Via Stracciatella, to the left of Piazza di S.

It is that time of the year again! Plants see to thrive, but the terrible weeds do it as well.

I did not want to hijack Ronald's thread on Sardinia and the G8, but following a post on the same topic by Adriatica and my own commennt, I thought that it may be interesting for many to see what we are talking about.

Perhaps you are not looking in the right places. As Danika says, those differences in price do not exist. Try to do a search online using the words "travertino prezzi " or have a look here http://www.marmoprezzi.infoFor kitchens, have a look at mondoconvenienza.it

Are you going to permanently reside in Italy, or is it going to be a holiday residence? That makes a big difference. Also, is it going to be a luxury property, a palatial villa or a castle, or just a normal home? That also counts...

I am afraid that this idea is a bit of a myth. It all dependa on what and where you are buying in France. In most cases, and knowing what you need to order, you can do it on line.nhere is one of the largest suppliers, located at Nîmes , but you can search on the Web using the words "vitraux matériel ". Nîmes will be about 4 hours by car from Imperia.

Hi, there are  quite a few manufacturers of "vetrate artistiche" in Italy, mainly in Milan, Rome and Tuscany and even craft courses throughout the country,  so there should be suppliers of materials, although I do not know whether it will be easy to find those in Liguria. You could do a search using the words "vetrate artistiche materiali ". Also, the province of Imperia is close to the French border and you could find another source of materials there.

Hi, Stefka, it is certainly a good idea to check on the credentials of the real estate agent involved, and this site may be of help http://www.fiaip.it/associati/ricerca-associati/ricerca-geografica/; however, the real estate agent will be responsible for only part of the purchase. The most important issue is the general condition of the property, particularly the structural one in the case of those properties requiring renovations and there you will need a building professional to give you an accurate diagnosis. An ordinary real estate agent is not qualified to do that and will not be responsible if estimating costs or condition are not accurate. As for prices... This is a buyer's market and some properties may be selling for much lower prices than before 2008 for a multitude of reasons.Buying a ruin is always complicated and you need professional help... And double the money you originally envisaged. But you can find homes which have already been renovated selling at reasonable prices.Good luck and best wishes!

Hello, seebha 98. If you are coming to Northern Tuscany, I will recommend you to visit the Bagni di Lucca  area, 25 minutes away from Lucca capital, with two international airports within easy reach, both Florence and Pisa, train, buses, and a wonderful area. You can get plenty of information from this great blog, which has won a couple of IM awards https://bellabagnidilucca.com/about-bagni-di-lucca/Property prices are excellent right now and they will certainly go up. When we bought our property, some 8 years ago, the choice was very limited and prices were higher. Right now, throughout Italy, it is a buyer's market.why Bagni di Lucca? Location, location, location. As I said, two international airports within easy reach, offering easy connections with major international airlines and low cost carriers. Visits to Florence, PIsa,  Lucca, Sienna, Assisi, Bologna, the Cinque Terre, Volterra, Perugia and Lake Trasimeno, Forte dei Marmi and the Versilia Coast, the ski slopes at Abettone,... Are all day trips f we even go to Portofino for lunch. Need I say more?Good luck with your search. smiley

David, if everything else fails I can recommend Antica Pesa in the Transtevere. My favorite Italian dish, saltimbocca alla romana is cooked to perfection and the place is beautiful http://www.anticapesa.it/en/restaurant/

Yes, thank you, Ugo, I do know Pierluigi. But I cannot find the Transtevere restaurant that David is searching for, except for the one where Michelle Obama went with her daughters (and some critics say that it is not very good)  So I am afraid that David will have to look  for it... Or find himself a nice restaurant in the Transtevere...which should not be too difficult, providing he keeps away from the "touristy" places. wink

Yes, Barack Obama went to  Pierluigi during his 2014 visit, but this restaurant is not located in the Transtevere neighborhood, but near Campo dei Fiori.

i think that you mean the San Michele on Lungotevere Ripa 7. Barack Obama did not dine there, but Michelle Obama with her 2 daughters and entourage did.
