Hi For excess charges we use www.intasure.com the same company that also insures our Sardinian house. As for car hire the passed 3 times we've changed from Europcar to Auto Europa(Sicily by car) www.autoeuropa.it why half the cost.We where worried we would'nt get the same service as we have with Europcar over the last 7 years but,so far so good.
