Hi!

It is a "Minestra Maritata" in Italian :) which has its origin from Campania region.

Meat and vegetables get married, reason of this funny name :)

Buon pranzo!

Hi Peter!

Unfortunately, getting Italian dual Citizenship in the south area or in a busy city like Milan is not as fast as foreigners expect.

Sally, should you decide to come to Palermo and nearest places (Cefalù, Mondello, etc.) you will enjoy the nice wether, even during winter time, amazing history, and welcoming people!

I can also introduce some expats who got Italian citizenship here, since they are my loyal clients :)

Same as Peter, I would like to know if your dual citizenship process is proceeding smoothly, since several clients who wanted to move to Italy and get their dual citizenship eventually had to hire a lawyer to come to the end of the process. How was your experience?

Best,

Ciao!

As correctly Modicasa anticipated, for gaining Italian citizenship, you do need to be resident in Italy for at least 10 years.

There are three important steps to be followed:

I step: Applying for an Italian long-stay visa at the Italian embassy or consulate in your home country. This allows you to enter Italy and stay for a maximum of 90 days.

II step: Going to the Questura within 8 days form your first arrival in Italy (important step).

III step:  Once in Italy you have to apply for one of the Italian long stay visas. Most foreigners who wish to retire in Italy, apply for the Elective Residency Visa (I do not know if this is your case).

In this case you need to have enough funds to live here without working, and a house where to live (rented or purchased) as well as further requirements.

There are more alternatives, such as the Investment Visa for Italy.

Good luck :)

Ciao Grazia,

Most luckily you have to apply from the local Municipality where you are planning to get your residency.

Depending on few information, I can tell you what document you need to bring. Questions here below:

- In what Country are you Citizen now?

- Are you a naturalized US citizen?

- Do you have a copy of your birth certificate with "annotations"? The annotations will help you to understand how to proceed with your citizenship acquisition. Meaning that we do not have to get confused between the Italian Citizenship re-acquisition (ex. art. 13 Law 1991 of 1992) and the "jus sanguinis" citizenship acquisition.

- When did you move abroad? How old were you?

There are few other questions, and I understand if you do not want to make them public. In this case you can send me a private message or an email at info@luxury-law.com.

I will do my best to help!

Ugo,

I like your sense of humor..

I am sure compare Turiddu would surely sort any problems much faster.. but of course I meant "legal" action ;)

For example art. 1079 of the Italian Civil Code gives specific protection to whom is in the same situation as Grynrowland.
