Hello All, I have dual nationality uk / Italian and stay in Italy at the mo. We were looking at purchasing a second car to run about here with. How does insurance work ?
Urgently looking for a good vet in abruzzo. Be able to speak English would be a bonus. We are near Avezzano ( which is in between Rome and Pescara. Any help and recommendations would be good.
Needing some advise ! We have just built a house in abruzzo and are due to register it. Can anyone explained the tax , ici, emu situation?
Looking or some help in finding a balustrade / banister company in abruzzo. We are looking for one for our marble stairs. We thought maybe chrome or chrome and glass modern style one but are also looking at other options.
Driveway.. Looking for a company that would work in Celano, Abruzzo that does finshed concrete or stamped concrete. This appears to be a good way to finish your drive without the expense of tiling.
This is a strange question. But does anyone know how you can find out who your electricity supplier is.
Has anyone tried TV when away company ? https://www.tvwhenaway.co.uk. Are they any good ? Thanks
How do you know if you have a good gas and electricity deal ? I am set up with gran sasso for gas and enel for electric.
Looking at best deal to get a phone line in our house in Abruzzo. Really only needing Internet so we can get British TV. Unless someone has any good ideas on how to get internet without a phone line ?!? Thanks for any advice :-)
We have been quoted 15 euros a square meter to lay tiles, is this a fair price? Had a couple of quotes but both were the same price, we are in a small town and not sure if I should get another quote from a larger company in large town near by.
Thank you will try them !
I used bookings.com and found loads of dog friendly hotels. Some don't allow dogs in restaurants but most dogs if they have there bed will stay in room quite happily. I looked at smaller hotels as they usually we very dog friendly. Also a lot of shopping centres and shops allow dogs in them in Europe and u usually find drinking points everywhere for them. We went by euro tunnel as only half an hour and you stay in you car. Really easy and quick !
Drove from Scotland to Italy with my 15year old dog... On way went through France , Switzerland and then Italy. All very dog friendly. No problems at all.... On way home came through France. Once in Europe I used bookings.com and found dog friendly hotels to stop overnight. Never booked anything before I left.. The euro tunnel was easy and simple on way you just drive on and on way back you check your pet checked in first.. Once thing is you need a vaccine given to you dog before returning to UK and the passport stamped. This is just a pill the vet gives your dog.. I took some Palma ham to vets we wrapped pill in it and down it went ! After vaccine you have 5 days to leave Europe so plenty of time to drive back. I am hoping to take her back to Italy in April as she enjoyed it so much. The heat also helped her joints ! Enjoy your trip !
I am taking my dog for the first time to abbruzo but lanciano maybe be too far, we have a vet in Celano but wanted to know if anyone can tell me what you ask for in Italian. Anyone else got any advise take it customs is easy I will be travelling through the euro tunnel ? You have 5 days after the vaccine to leave Europe take it this is correct. Thanks. Ali .
Thank you both for advise this has greatly helped
Maybe I asked too much can anyone tell me is it better to be resident or non resident which way is the best from money matters to bills etc.. Thanks
Thanks have looked at his website , he does some amazing work.. Will email him and enquire. Might be out our price range but you never know worth an ask... Do you know of anyone that has had a stair done by him if so any idea roughly what he charged ... Thanks again Ali
http://www.mondoconv.itWe got out Kitchen here and some furniture. They deliver within 110 kilometres I think. They also built the furniture when they deliver which is a bonus. Quality is good and service we had no problems with - even when they accidentally broke the glass cooker hood.. They cleaned it all up and arrange to come back with a new one and fit it ( they even changed the worktop because he had noticed a small chip caused he thinks by the glass ). We could also choose a day that suited us. Some of the furniture can be delivered within 48 hours. Price wise - we found it to be very reasonable
We used the estate agent in the area that we were looking... The website of the one we used is. http://www.risorseimmobiliari.it/agenzie_immobiliari/Agenzia-Immobiliare-Dottssa-Roberta-Felli-4136.htmlRoberta was very helpful all be it she doesn't speak English but between our basic Italian and a translator we managed. One thing is try and get a good lawyer that speaks both English and Italian. Someone on here will know doubt be able to recommend one. Abruzzo is a lovely place with lovely people. My mother in law has had a house there for 30 years plus and goes 3 times a year and has never been broken into to or had any probs. We purchased our 'renovation ' in 2011 and also have had no problem. Getting friendly with the neighbours is a must we have wonderful neighbour who check in on our house when we are not there.... All the very best in your search :-))))
