hi bunterboy, until recently i haven't heard of anything that is fully reliable via wifi but this looks pretty good: http://www.amazon.co.uk/HD-Ready-Wireless-Transmitter-PC/dp/B004RG6Z16/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1310387255&sr=8-2 good thing with amazon is you can return if it doesn't work, sure there are many similar items available.

unless you have a dedicated device the most common way at present is using  HDMI interface which can be configured on desktop PC/laptop to repeat on tv. most laptop computers have either a vga, dvi. or hdmi port, with desktops a graphics card can fitted with ports (most graphics cards have hdmi port as well as vga/dvi) your tv must have same port or hdmi port as well. a cable can be run from the pc/laptop to the tv and the video computer software configured to repeat what is on showing on both screen. vga and dvi only deal with graphics but hdmi also handles sound, in any case sound could heard through pc speakers. you may need a cable that for instance has vga or dvi at one end and hdmi at the other - these can be purchased from ebay or amazon, i only trust the latter for certain reasons. this link is to a video on youtube which explain the interface bit better than i can: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tyfxwl03APc instead of extending i would recomend repeating same on both but screen but either is feasible. hope this helps.

take it that you have a pc, have you thought about conducting lessons through skype or similar program? I've seen that such means are used in remote areas. papers if needed could be sent or emailed ahead. this would save your travel costs and more importantly your time. you may have to invest in a webcam with a microphone. this service could offered as an option as well as current face to face service, internet makes the world much smaller and you should also look at other ways of advertising your services such as having a website, translation of documents could be done over the internet also. hope this helps

have you made enquiries with other people in your area to see if they have a chiavetta with another provider? you could also go to a local shop that sells them in the area, they should know which providers have good reception in your area. having a landline doesn't guarantee broadband access a long distance from an exchange, you'd have to ask the landline provider if this is so. hope this helps.

I find information on this forum very interesting and despite what some say the occasional bit of banter. even when a post has nothing to do with me I still read with interest and I also enjoy the strong opinions held by some here. Italy community is on my favorite bar and will remain there.

yes. I've had a similar problem and a phone call at 10p per minute - unlike you my call did not get answered as quickly but it did put my mind at rest. we noticed these things beforehand, i don't think that ryanair are very forgiving when things are bought to light on the day, though i have heard differing stories. ryanair are definitely good value.

the pitfalls have certainly been pointed out and i'm more scared than ever... seems like auto europe are the best bet though in the last post from JanJ that they sub contract to other companies which seems no different from the company that advertise at the top page of this forum. car hire excess insurance also is a must. having looked further into terms of various companies, i find it difficult to understand how someone should inspect the underside of the car and tyres  etc. for damage. seems like in most cases we have to rely on trustworthiness of the staff or company where car is collected. minefield is a word that springs to mind. in the case of damage to underside of the vehicle the excess could be  €3.500 which goes over the maximum excess of some but not all carhire insurance policies -  €5000 being the maximum for the year. although there would probaly be way round this; a good practice would be to have a record of all previous claims/damage history of the vehicle compulsorily made available to the customer, minimising multiple claims being made for the same damage and showing damage already on vehicle.

I will certainly look at the excess insurance companies shown. Emanuele. your advice about the different car type never occurred to me - noted pas55. i find detail regarding your personal experience with autoeuropa.itvery valuable, i will definitely be taking a look at them. If more people post similar information, it would give better choice and some protection to community members from cowboy elements..... chrisnotton. I have heard that owning, running and maintaining a car is restrictive due to expense but i will certainly ask a relative about it next time i'm over. while i'm here, has anyone used the company advertised at top of this forum? i've gone through a quote and it certainly seems cheaper and also includes the following:

  • collision damage waiver (cdw)
  • third party liability protection (tp)
  • theft waiver (tw)
  • tax
  • airport fee
  • road tax
  • kilometers included per rental: 4,000
  • breakdown assistance

Again thanks in advance..
