Have just heard the news:"Ferrari have lost their bid to gain an injunction against the FIA's plans to introduce its controversial budget cap next season. The Scuderia indicated before the court case that they will withdraw from the 2010 Championship if the FIA refuses to back down on the £40 million budget cap or the 29 May deadline for entries to next year. "Will be interesting to see if the are on the grid at the start of the 2010 season!

I hope Ferrari and some of the others do boycot the F1 championship. It's become far to tied to the whims of the little Hitlers (pardon the pun) of Max Mosely and Bernie Ecclestone who see it as their little club. Motor racing should not be about money I know; but if you've got it flaunt it and that applies to technology as well..

If it is not about the technology then let us just give everyone a fiat punto and have them battle it out. Technology is people and material and you need money for both and caps really don't make sense. Who checks that Ferrari does not move some technology development into a Fiat-branded lab then simply buys it at a low prize (to remain within the 40 million). Am I missing something here?
