My grandparents were born in Italy. I want to get dual citizenship. How do I do this?

You will need records. The consulate is a good place to start with details on the process. In general: you will need documents to show that your grandparents were born in Italy. Then you will need documents that complete the link to you.You will need official documents from Italy that are obtained at the comune. Email, letters and phone calls tend to get limited results from the comune. Many times you need to go there yourself or have someone local do that for you.

We had a a feature in 2011 regarding dual citizenship that you might want to refer too, likely you will have to prove via documentation that no family link was broke, it can take a long time to get but it's absolutely worth it! I helped some friends get theirs a couple of years ago.  http://Share Your Italian Story: My Italian Citizenship http://shar.es/ScUcY via @sharethis
