Thankyou

After moving to Italy things changed for me in a way I could never have imagined. One night I poured my heart out on a forum,(Italymag) I received at lot of help, support and advice from people who didn’t know me but were kind enough to care. whilst that forum is no more I know that there are still a few of you on here. So I would like to say a big thank you to all the people who contributed and encouraged me to write it all down. Six years later I have finally got my book 'The diary of a single parent abroad' on Amazon. So for anyone who is interested it can now be downloaded to a kindle. Here are the links for the UK- http://www.amazon.co.uk/diary-single-parent-abroad-ebook/dp/B00871I0XS/r...USA - http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00871I0XSAnd if anyone would like to leave a review you can do so on the Amazon web-site.Paperback now available - http://www.feedaread.com/books/The-diary-of-a-single-parent-abroad-97817...Thanks again Jill.

Can I just say I have read this book more than once and it is an excellent read. Not only because of the content but because of the stuggle Jill has faced over the years and her dogged determination to put into words her own experience. I hope you will all buy this book because her story is worth reading.

Just read another good book set in Bologna, if you like a bit of romance try this ...http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ask-Me-Im-Happy-ebook/dp/B0051BDTXI/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1339334888&sr=1-1   The author has stated that a donation for all books sold will be going to the earhquake fund.

A few years ago I submitted a subject matter - thats technology based and isnt relevant now so much. It was the highest hit thread on the forum at that time - some 25 pages long. A thread that Anastasia was to take the mickey out of and say that it was going nowhere. At the time I was also losing my job, and going through a court case. (Which I won - but was going through it at the time). A job that I had been in for - for 8 years. They wanted to sack me for being mental.  This forum dissed me - and I also came out to this forum to some past history's of my life that haunt me - they werent so kind here - I tried to get back on the forum at a later date - but they ignored me. I dont know why I have been allowed back now. Years later - and now under going counselling for Aspergers which my Doctor wants to take through the NHS - but there is no diagnostic pathway for adults in my county. Aspergers was not recognised in the UK until 1994. Most GPs have no clue about it. My Dr has known me since 1992 and seen me through 2 court cases. Both employment related. He always asks me about my place in Italy. I have a job now - and it is bloody brilliant - ok - so I dont earn an amazing amount and I work bloody hard, but I have had a pay rise in the 2nd year, and are we not in a recession? And they accept my mental condition - I was upfront about it. We have a lot of geeks at our company!!! We are still taking people on now - our business is booming -recession - what recession? Recession I think is caused by humans that earn too much money in the financial sector. They get the jitters and the whole market shakes. As much as we think people are brilliant - people are just people - whether at the top of their job in the financial markets or running a forum - the general public are not expected to know and understand everyone. And lets not forget - an Italian forum isnt limited to English people - people from Africa, Slovenia, China and New Zealand can read it too, sometimes - we think we are in a safe bubble, but we are open to all. Bottom line. Life is good. (LG - China!!!!). I have had 3 Chinese girls living with me - from China (not English Chinese - and I have to say the experience on the whole was very good. I have a lot of respect for the Chinese.

Hi, I have gone to the website but there is no shipping to Italy, and to pay to have it sent to Australia and then sent here becomes somewhat expensive. Can we purchase directly from you?  We would love to support you.

The web site does say it doesn't ship to Italy for some reason, but many of my friends over here have ordered it and I have myself recieved a copy delivered over here. So maybe just put your address in and see what happens.

"It was the highest hit thread on the forum at that time - some 25 pages long". No it wasn't - the "Palio" thread was - and still is. "A thread that Anastasia was to take the mickey out of and say that it was going nowhere." Untrue. "This forum dissed me - and I also came out to this forum to some past history's of my life that haunt me - they werent so kind here - I tried to get back on the forum at a later date - but they ignored me" Also very untrue.  No-one "dissed" you and no one was unkind to you Glen.  You got banned for posting shyte.  People ignored you - just as they have done here in this thread - because they don't know how to handle you.

"It was the highest hit thread on the forum at that time - some 25 pages long" It was the highest hitting thread - but Palio did overtake over time. "A thread that Anastasia was to take the mickey out of and say that it was going nowhere." She deleted her post - I think she was the 2nd person to respond. "This forum dissed me - and I also came out to this forum to some past history's of my life that haunt me - they werent so kind here - I tried to get back on the forum at a later date - but they ignored me" When I tried to return to the forum I was to be refused on several occasions. Everyone posts shite at times. And it is sad we dont know how to handle people with Autism, as we have people like Bill Gates, Einstein, Alan Turing etc. We just think differently - and get frustrated with the politics you burden us with.

I did not respond to this old GPRS & EDGE thread of yours until post 85 - where I tranlated the Italian article into English for you.  No deletions of posts from me in that thread. Oh, and by the way, I was "Aliena" at that time - "Anastasia" wasn't born until 06/06/06!  wink

I'm really pleased your book is now available in paperback Jill and have just ordered a copy ready to take to Italy to read. I'm also taking "Thin Paths" by Julia Blackburn now it is available in paperback. It has excellent reviews. Has anyone read it?

Just finished it. Excellent. really really enjoyed it. Well done. I take my hat of to you. It sounds from the outside that you have done an excellent job with the children.

Thanks Pat, Any chance you could leave a review on Amazon to hep my sales? The ex has just discovered the book and claims he is not the person I have written about, but has stopped the maintenance payment and is refusing to pay the mortgage unless I unpublish it, thus proving he is the man I have written about. Ah well never been poorer but never been happier.

Hard copy just arrived and...opened it and erm finished it in one go.What a fantastic read, absolutely brilliant.Won't ask you when the sequel is 'cos everyone is already asking that on Amazon!! Loved the positive feedback on a certain site, apart from the grammar nazi.."Me and her should be She and I..we were sat should be we were sitting or we were seated..Alright should be all right" etc etc etc..I'm sure she was just trying to be helpful !!! Can I put feedback on Amazon saying that I have just read the hard copy? Well done again, loved it.Oh,and yes, been to the Butchers Arms many times,my ex next door neighbour from Cliff Rd has bought a house a few doors up from there...so that's handy!

Thanks all for the support, I am going to write another, just collecting material, never dull living in rural Italia! If you want to see photos I have a blog/FB page (don't forget to press like)    -   http://www.facebook.com/TheDiaryOfASingleParentAbroad Any feedback/likes on Amazon are appreciated and will help sales. I have editing issues (due to being too poor to pay for it) but have just had a friend/author on FB offer to do it for free. And after a magazine over here published an article about the book recently.which led to meeting someone who is a professional translater also offering a freebie so may be able to sell it in Italy. Might get that roof yet?   And it all started on the Italymag forum.

I wanted to support your book so downloaded the Kindle version and read it whilst sunbathing in my holiday home garden in Italy.  Well done.  I wasn't ready for the book to end when it did, so I hope it is not too long before you are in a position to write a sequel. We'll all wait and see!

Really enjoyed your book and, like everyone else, do need to know what happens next! Just one thing I felt your opinion might differ on in years to come - all those poor feeble old people in their 60's. One day you'll discover that 60 is definitely the new 28!!
