Ciao Gina and welcome to the Community. Good to hear from you and your plans.Lucca is a very good city to use as a base for Tuscany. The city itself is beautiful and an absolute delight. The train station is easy to reach and there are good regular services to many places from there. It is less crowded than Florence.

Ciao Gala,Thanks for the advice on Lucca i will look into it as a base for my holiday. i was thinking of staying in a self contained apartment of something like that so that i could buy fresh food etc and be able to cook my self. i also of course want to try out all the local restaurants etc.thanks again for the advice.ciao Gina
