Bank Account

We would like to open a joint account in Italy, but don't know of any good, reliable banks. Our main criteria are: low monthly/quarterly charges, easy use straight-forward internet banking (as we are wanting to trasfer money back to England on regular basis). We both live here and have our CF numbers, I don't know about the residency + other relevant stuff as this is something my husband's employer takes care of...I have had a browse through previous posts, but didn't find exactly what I was looking for. However ANY advice on banking in Italy would be much appreciated. Many thanks, Zuzana ;-)

if you have money to send back to the uk,and your husband we presume has a good job.the most logical thing to do would be for him to speak to his employer, given that this person we assume has a good company and probably excellent relations with most of the banks in your area.Your husband's employer may even help in introducing him to one of these banks and permit yourselves to enjoy better banking conditions than you might otherwise get just "turning up at the door of a bank".All Italian banks btw have home banking facilities  so that's not an issue. That is what i would do in your position and have done so in Italy when i was an employee for a company.it will get you a lot farther than any replies you may get on this forum and is the normal way of going about things in Italy.

Hi, Milsonka. I agree with Sebastiano - it will all be easier if you get an introduction to a bank via your husband's employer.  It will certainly be quicker!  You will need a certificate of residence to open a bank account so check with your husband's employer about this. Pat
