Festival of Italian Food Celebrated in Rimini

The 14th annual Festival della Cucina Italiana (Festival of Italian Food) is scheduled to take place this weekend in Rimini.

The event, free to the public, takes place at Parco Terme Galvanina, a thermal springs park set in the Rimini hillside. It will feature thematic areas dedicated to traditional Italian cuisine, including pasta, pizza and wine, tastings, music performances, workshops and award ceremonies for top chefs including Gualtiero Marchesi, who will receive the National Galvanina Prize, and Carlo Cracco, who will be awarded the Best Chef 2014 prize.  

Other top chefs slated to attend are Gianfranco Vissani and Gino Angelini.

And while you are in Rimini, make sure you visit its historic center, which features important Roman monuments, such as the Amphitheatre, the Arch of Augustus and the Tiberius Bridge, while, dating to the Renaissance, are Castel Sismondo and the Tempio Malatestiano built by Leon Battista Alberti.

The festival takes place September 5-7. Hours: Friday, 4 pm to midnight; Saturday, 10.30 am to midnight; Sunday, 10.30 am to 10 pm.
