''Camper Valley'' - an area between Barberino Val d'Elsa, Poggibonsi, Tavarnelle and San Gimignano - enjoys a financial turnover equal to 500 and 600 euro per year.

Following the recent events and disputes involving Mobilvetta, and the polemics involving Laika's move, good news is coming from one of the most well known companies in the district, Giottiline.

Famous for using only Fiat motors, the firm employs 50 people and in 2007 sales went from 350 vehicles to 1400 vehicles for a total income of 23 million euro.

The growth is thanks to a boom on the European market and to the environmental incentives put in place by the government to finance campers.

The key to their success can also be attributed to the repositioning of the production from extra-luxury to a medium-high quality fleet with accessible prices.

Giottiline can still count on their strength as a family run business, in contrast to other companies in the sector which are owned by foreign corporations.
