Our friend was stopped by a policeman yesterday in her car. My friend says she thinks it's because her car had Spanish plates that it seemed like a flashing beacon light to this particular policeman.

He was quite rude and shouty to her apparently. The copper wanted to see a "pink slip" which she thought was equivalent to the UK's V5. She said in Spain, they don't have that documentation at all. Policeman says Spain should do because Italy have this. She had all the needed documents. Apart from the mysterious "pink slip".

Went to see this movie last night in Oxford.  Probably one of the slowest films with the least happening that I have ever seen - but actually it was perfect!  Shot in Calabria - in part in Serra San Bruno - everyone will recognise a little vignette of Italian mountain village life.

And I learnt a huge amount about charcoal burning!

I have a home below the town of Rassina which is in the township of Castel Focognano.  I am looking for a local Architect who can also manage the work.   Our project is mainly renovation work not restoration.  Also this person most speak english.  I look for to hearing from some that can help us

I am thinking about gong to Elba for 2 nights in a week or so . Can anyone advise the best area  to stay in. I am not taking the car. Would like to be in a more local area rather than touristy but with nice restaurants and bars. Any info on the island would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you
