Answer to: Calculating ICI

Can anyone tell me if ICI is calculated (and payable) per person or per property. In other words is there one calculation for the house or is it a personal obligation for me and another for my husband? It depends who owns the property - its usually the two of you, so you both pay half. I had the ownership registered to me alone - makes ICI and selling easier.

Depending on what route he takes, we could advise on locations. If he's coming via Switzerland, places like the  Moevenpick Hotel Touring in Chiasso may be suitable  .

"I've seen a black and white picture in one of the restaurants of people sitting in the piazza but I can't seem to find where to buy it."  These days - there's no need to scan or photocopy the picture - just take a digital photo of it, and then use your computer to make a decent sized print.  All you need is a 6Meg camera or higher If you want a print bigger than A4 [or A3 if your printer will do that], take the camera to a 'Print Shop' -  in the UK they will enlarge the print to almost any size you want.  .

jowilliams on the 'old forum' posted;- Here is information on the restaurants in Petritoli where I live.Ristorante Hotel Roma:A great place to stop for lunch. Excellent priced food at bargain prices. Bread, a pasta dish, wine, water, fruit and coffee all for 6 euros.Osteria de le Cornacchie:A set menu of traditional local dishes. Broad beans to die for. This Osteria is famous in the area and extremely popular. You do not have to eat the tripe! Well worth a visit. Vegitarians should inform Sergio the owner beforehand. Advanced booking required.Ristorante Re Squarchiò:What can I say? Prepare yourself for a feast! The food just keeps arriving(again it is a set menu) so go carefully on the starters. This really is an excellent restaurant. Andrea speaks some English and makes the best italian baked beans I have tasted. Open at lunchtime. Advanced booking required and again let Andrea know beforehand if you are vegetarian. Go carefully on the vino cotto and mistrà!Ristorante Pizzeria Obelix:Haven't been!! It has recently changed hands, but reports have been excellent by locals and expats. Open Lunchtime. Hope it helps .

In simplistic terms - if you are not 'resident' in Italy, [lots of paperwork, and you have to live there for the majority of the year], you should pay ICI on the house .
