I did not want to hijack Ronald's thread on Sardinia and the G8, but following a post on the same topic by Adriatica and my own commennt, I thought that it may be interesting for many to see what we are talking about.
I have always been hopeless at quizzes, that is why I never participate in them; however, I am putting 10 pounds in the kitty as a fine for being incompetent. :)
I agree that it takes some time to get used to this; however,I have started to notice a definite improvement. It is just a bit of practice what is needed.
Although caustic soda is used, generally in weak solutions, I would be a bit worried about using it. Salt and also vinegar have been used for weed control. Still, I would prefer just plain boiling water, so start planning for the camp fire.
Gromit, it would be better to use a thermos flask, but make sure it keeps the right temperature. Otherwise, have a camp fire or one of those camping burners with a kettle boiling on site. Never run with a kettle full of boiling water. As for Caustic Soda.... you are really dangerous.... :O
